Certification - CAPM Designation

image_certificate.jpgPMI's Certified Associate of Project Management Professional (CAPM®) certification provides recognition of an individual's ability to meet specified standards in the field of project management. The certification process involves meeting minimum education/experience criteria, an examination, and a comprehensive review of the candidate's qualifications in the areas of education and professional experience.

To help you pass various PMI certification examinations successfully, the PMI Central Ohio chapter offers PMP, PMI-ACP® and CAPM® Exam Preparation seminars at PMICOC Board Room, 1335 Dublin Road, 35A, Columbus OH 43215. The objective of these seminars is to assist the candidate in preparing for the certification exam. The exam covers the knowledge areas defined in PMI's Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). The seminar is intended to be a series of review sessions for the exam and is not an introductory course in project management. Candidates should have some experience in project management prior to attending the seminar.

All PMP® and CAPM® students will also receive a copy of the PMBOK and related reference material needed to complete the class and pass the exam. This is not an accelerated or advanced exam prep class. This class is structured as review of the information that students must know to pass the exam.

CAPM® - PMI Certified Associate in Project Management

This entry-level certification is for you if you have little or no project experience and are just starting your career in project management or want to improve your ability to manage larger projects. Requirements are minimal to take the CAPM® exam. You need only a high school diploma (or global equivalent) and 23 hours of project management education or 1500 hours of project experience. The benefits of this certification will:

  • demonstrate to employers your foundational knowledge in project management
  • help you understand context and common terminology on projects
  • assists you with interacting and communicating with project stakeholders.

CAPM® (Certified Associate of Project Management) is a recognition of entry and beginning level project managers, or simply for anyone who would like a better understanding of the guiding principles of project management.  The CAPM certification can boost your job opportunities by demonstrating your foundational understanding of project management best practices.

The CAPM® Review Boot Camp is a three day session: Each session lasts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Class sizes are limited to 15. You will receive your Rita Mulcahy's Exam Prep and PMBOK the first night.  Review: PMI CAPM® Handbook
