Panel Discussion on Ethics in Project Management
Presented by PMICOC
Hosted and Sponsored by Navigator Management Partners
Navigator Management Partners is bringing together a panel of leading professionals and experts to discuss the role that ethics plays in Project Management and how to handle ethically “gray” areas.
Oxford Dictionary defines ethics as: (1) the moral principles that govern a person's behavior or the conduct of an activity, or (2) the branch of knowledge that deals with moral principles. PMI’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct states that “ethics is about making the best possible decisions concerning people, resources, and the environment.” Not many individuals would argue against the value of ethics, but deciphering how to use ethical principles to govern our decisions and actions is not always easy.
Most companies, as part of their on-boarding of new employees, require the employee to acknowledge that he or she has received a copy of the company's code of conduct which sets forth the business ethics to which the employee must adhere. But how does one know when a process or objective crosses the line? And what systems are in place for reporting unethical conduct?
Our panelists will dive into these topics, share from their personal experiences, and open up a dialogue that will be thought-provoking and challenge each of you to elevate how you think about ethics. If you have a specific question or topic you would like addressed by the panel, please submit to email@example.com.
