Planning, forecasting, and risk all share a similar element: prediction. But the brain is not as good at that as we like to think. Projects continue to be planned optimistically, ultimately resulting in endeavors that are behind schedule and over budget. But optimistically planned projects don’t necessarily mean optimism bias is at play. Dr. Ramirez will show us the various ways behavioral science impacts the reliability of the plan, thus increasing the probability of a project delivered on time, on budget, and with lower risk.
