April 2017 - CME Meeting

Keith Albert 159x159Date:  April 20, 2017 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM, Check-in 5:30 PM, Meal 6:00 PMregister

Topic/Register: Actions Speak Louder Than Project Plans!

Learning Objectives :   This session will explain the differences between what most people believe is traditional project management versus delivery project management.  Delivery project management is focused on an action-oriented approach as opposed to traditional project management, which is mostly composed of tracking tasks instead of making things happen. Delivery project managers are not note-takers or agenda-makers.

In this interactive session, we will discuss the value of a Delivery PMO, the skills needs to be part of such a group and how to take the first steps to transform your PMO into a Delivery PMO.

Speaker Bio:

My name is Keith Albert and I work at the Ohio Department of Public Safety as an IT Chief (aka. IT Manager to the rest of the world) since 2005.  In this role, I oversee the process and procedures that encompass IT governance at the ODPS as well as lead the ODPS IT Project Management Office.  I am fortunate enough to be the founder of the PMO at ODPS and built it from the ground up.  Prior to my time at ODPS, I did 'big 5' consultant-type work with Accenture and Inforte.  I also spent time implementing pension software with Vitech.
