President's Message

dal1

As the 2012 chapter president, I am looking forward to a successful upcoming year with lots of programs and leadership initiatives to enhance our members’ effectiveness in and enjoyment of the project management profession.

As a member of PMICOC, I have always found the chapter to be extremely helpful with my own career and career objectives. My first volunteer position with the chapter was to help staff the Women in Project Management booth at the Professional Development Day (PDD).  The next year I worked actively on PDD serving as a member of the Speaker Selection Committee and eventually became the lead for that committee. I then moved on to serve as the PDD Vice-Chair for a number of years before becoming a member of the Board of Directors as a Director-At-Large. Through these and other leadership positions, I enjoyed the volunteer work and the networking opportunities the chapter offers. Specific opportunities exist in relation to the Leadership Team and a number of committees.  As president, I hope to encourage others to volunteer, to support the growth and development of volunteer and networking opportunities, and to take advantage of these benefits that the chapter offers.
